SUMMARY:Beyond the Clinic: Building a Fulfilling Career as a Traveling PA
DESCRIPTION:2026 marks the 50th anniversary of CAPA. As part of this milestone celebration\, CAPA is proud to present the Beyond the Clinic webinar series\, a multi-part program highlighting career paths for Physician Associates outside of traditional clinical settings.PA school taught you how to practice medicine. It didn't teach you how to build a career\, or a life\, around it. Many PAs find themselves burned out\, undervalued\, undercompensated\, or feeling like their profession has quietly become their whole identity. In this session\, Beyond the Clinic: Building a Fulfilling Career as a Traveling PA\, Fedna Morency\, PA-C\, will share how she reframed her degree as a tool rather than an identity and built a career that provides greater flexibility\, financial opportunity\, and personal fulfillment. An orthopedic surgery PA with more than 12 years of experience\, Fedna has worked in locum tenens since 2018 and is the founder of The Traveling PA .Attendees will get a practical look at locum tenens as one path toward greater career flexibility\, including how to find and evaluate assignments\, work with recruiters\, negotiate compensation\, understand W-2 versus 1099 contracts\, and make locum tenens work for their individual goals.Whether you're a PA student thinking ahead\, an early career PA exploring your options\, or an experienced clinician wondering if there's more\, you'll leave with a clearer picture of how to use your PA career to build greater flexibility\, financial opportunity\, and fulfillment on your own terms.
