2026 marks the 50th anniversary of CAPA. As part of this milestone celebration, CAPA is proud to present the Beyond the Clinic webinar series, a multi-part program highlighting career paths for Physician Associates outside of traditional clinical settings.

In this session, Beyond the Clinic: PA Practice Ownership in California, Dennis Tankersley, DMSc, PA-C, explores what it means for Physician Associates to own and operate their own medical practice. Drawing from his experience founding All Valley Urgent Care in Calimesa, California, Dr. Tankersley will share insights into the opportunities and challenges of practice ownership.

This session will examine key considerations for PA-owned practices in California, including regulatory requirements, operational planning, and leadership responsibilities. Attendees will gain perspective on building a sustainable practice, expanding access to care within their communities, and navigating the evolving role of Physician Associates in healthcare delivery.
