CAPA Hands-On Workshop: Orthopedic Techniques - Emeryville

Description

This workshop is intended to provide a review of common arthrocentesis approaches as well as hands-on training on these techniques.  Additionally, we will discuss indications for common upper and lower extremity splints and their appropriate application.  This training is intended for PAs in the Primary Care/ED setting or who routinely care for patients with common musculoskeletal disorders.

Curriculum

  • Casting
  • Splinting
  • Arthrocentesis

Learning Objectives

  • Understand standard arthrocentesis techniques/approaches for shoulders and knees
  • Recognize indications for common upper and lower extremity splints
  • Understand how to appropriately apply common upper and lower extremity splints

Space is limited.

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Workshop organizers plan to apply for AAPA Category 1 CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel. The total number of approved credits is yet to be determined.
