CAPA Hands-On Workshop: Orthopedic Techniques - Emeryville **Cancelled**

Description
This workshop is intended to provide a review of common arthrocentesis approaches as well as hands-on training on these techniques. Additionally, we will discuss indications for common upper and lower extremity splints and their appropriate application. This training is intended for PAs in the Primary Care/ED setting or who routinely care for patients with common musculoskeletal disorders.
Curriculum
- Musculoskeletal physical exam
- Casting
- Splinting
- Arthrocentesis
Learning Objectives
- Understand standard arthrocentesis techniques/approaches for shoulders and knees
- Recognize indications for common upper and lower extremity splints
- Understand how to appropriately apply common upper and lower extremity splints
