Santa Monica Primary Care is a small concierge practice in Santa Monica, CA, with one physician, Dr. Philip Bretsky. We are looking to hire a PA to work remotely twice a month for the following shift: Friday 1pm - 5pm, then on call from then until Monday morning (exact time can be determined). For the 4 hours on Friday, the PA will provide telemedicine consultation to patients, prescribe necessary medications, and generally assist the practice with clinical questions as needed. Dr. Bretsky and this PA will work out which 2 dates/shifts per month the PA will work. Being available for the entire shift twice per month is required. 

The 4 hours on Friday will be paid at an hourly rate. The call weekend will be paid with a base rate at $1,000, and then a subsequent rate per engagement - meaning per patient call responded to. Generally the practice gets 4 to 5 calls per weekend day. Sometimes none, but very rarely more than about 7.

This position means that you can work from home on Fridays, and be available within a reasonable timeframe on the weekend to respond to patient calls. Our office currently employs 3 Remote PAs. You will be our 4th. We find that having PAs to work with Dr. Bretsky remotely works well for everyone - the patients, the physician, and the PA.
